Editorial Guidelines

The short version: every article on finsmart.pk is published by the FinSmart Team, based on primary sources such as FBR notifications, SROs, PRAL documentation and IRIS guidance. We cite those sources, date every update, and correct errors publicly.

Who writes our content

Content is researched and written by the FinSmart product and compliance team at Alisons Technology, Karachi, which covers FBR Digital Invoicing, invoice operations and sales tax compliance for Pakistani businesses. Articles carry the "FinSmart Team" byline rather than individual names, and we do not publish personal credentials or certifications for team members. Our team is not a firm of tax advisors; where a question needs professional advice, we say so.

What we base our claims on

  • FBR notifications, SROs and circulars published on fbr.gov.pk
  • PRAL technical documentation and the Digital Invoicing API behaviour
  • IRIS guidance for registration, return filing and invoice correction
  • Our own implementation experience with customers in Pakistan

We link to the primary source wherever a claim depends on a specific rule, threshold, deadline or penalty. If we cannot source a claim, we do not publish it as fact.

Review process

  • Every regulatory statement is checked against the current FBR or PRAL source before publication.
  • Product claims are checked against the shipped software, not a roadmap.
  • Reviews of third-party tools describe documented behaviour only.

What we do not do

  • We do not invent testimonials, review scores, ratings or customer names.
  • We do not claim partnerships, certifications or affiliations that do not exist.
  • We do not present FinSmart as giving tax advice. Your business remains responsible for its tax treatment and the accuracy of its invoices.

Corrections and updates

When a rule changes or we find an error, we update the article and change the visible "last updated" date. If you spot something wrong, email info@finsmart.pk with the page URL and the detail in question, and we will review it.
